TI Gets into Gesture Recognition with XTR

Globes, CNET, TI: TI and XTR 3D demo gesture recognition technology at the 2010 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona these days. The demo appears at Youtube too:

XTR claims its technology uses "a single standard webcam". However, the XTR device in the demo does not look like the standard webcam. My sources told that the trick is in so called "split lens" - I would love to learn more about this approach.

  1. So it’s not a standard Logitech QC Pro 9000?
It’s a special device with a split lens that looks like a Logitech camera?
Your sources must be something special… ;-)

  2. Look man I know for sure that TI are secretly developing Logitech like split lens devices, it’s all a NASA thing under cover. But their first target is to get a lawsuit from Logitech, for producing copies of their cameras...
